Selected excerpts from oral testimonies hosted on the platform were then played for the audience, while students and teachers read stories produced during the educational workshops. These presentations highlighted a creative dialogue between the experiences of older generations and the perspectives of today’s youth.

Author and educator Eleni Svoronou, who co-designed the creative writing workshops, addressed the audience through a recorded video message, sharing her reflections and conclusions from her collaboration with the Andros Research Center, the students and the participating teachers.

The event concluded with short remarks by members of OPIAN and the project team on the importance of collective memory, local knowledge and the continuation of similar initiatives in the future. An open discussion followed, accompanied by refreshments generously offered by local producers, including traditional biscuits and homemade lemonade.

We would like to warmly thank the students who participated in the project, the teachers of the three schools for their invaluable collaboration, and author Eleni Svoronou for designing and facilitating the creative writing workshops. Special thanks are also due to the members of the Oral History Group of Andros for their contribution to the collection, selection and promotion of oral testimonies, as well as to AltSol and the developers of the digital platform for transforming archival material into a modern and accessible tool for learning and knowledge sharing.

We also thank the Municipality of Andros for providing the Municipal Theatre free of charge, the Andros Club for lending the projector, and everyone who supported and attended the project.

Although this event marked the formal completion of the project, the dissemination and use of its outcomes continue through the promotion of the digital platform and the ongoing enrichment of its content. The experience gained through the pilot educational action has already informed our future approach and will guide the continuation of the programme in collaboration with the island’s schools and other educational institutions. The project also lays the foundation for new educational, research and cultural partnerships centred on oral history and the cultural heritage of Andros.
