As in the previous year, so again this year, following an invitation by Ioannis Drinis, Assistant Professor of Folklore and Anthropology at the University of Ioannina, we presented the activities of our organization on Andros to students of the Postgraduate Program in Folklore and Cultural Management of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

More specifically, the presentation took place on November 27, 2025, within the course “Public Folklore, Cultural Management and Cultural Policy: Issues of Organization, Administration and Management of Cultural Organizations”. Olga Karagianni shared with the postgraduate students the activities of the Andros Research Center through her presentation entitled: “Cultural Landscapes as Tourist Destinations & Folklore.”

The presentation was attended by 42 postgraduate students, most of whom are professionals in the field of cultural management, and it was followed by a lively discussion.

The aim of the lecture was to contribute to highlighting the potential of cultural landscape management and, more broadly, cultural heritage within the framework of sustainable tourism interventions, as well as to familiarize students with organizations that apply principles and methods which are examined theoretically within the postgraduate program.

The Andros Routes initiative was presented, along with its history, achievements, and the challenges it faces in its operation, as well as other collective initiatives such as the Andros Oral History Group. In addition, actions implemented by our organization over the past five years were discussed, including the promotion and support of local producers, the study and promotion of traditional water management on Andros, and traditional lemon cultivation.

Such an invitation is both an honor and a joy for our organization, and an opportunity for meaningful engagement with both young and experienced professionals in the field of studying and promoting our country’s cultural heritage.
